In a clothes shop

Shop assistent: Good morning. Can I help you?
Jim: Thanks, I'm just looking (having a look).
S.A.: Well, let me know if there's something I can do for you. (let me know if you need any help)

Jim: What do you think of these jeans?
Ann: They're really nice. How much are they?
Jim: There's no price tag. I'm going to ask the shop assistent. Excuse me, how much are these jeans?
S.A.: Let's see. They were 40 euros but today they are on sale, they're 30% off. So the price is 28 euros. That's a good price for these jeans.
Jim: Can I try them on?
S.A.: Sure. The changing room is over there.
Jim: Thanks a lot.

Jim: How do they look?
Ann: Oh, Jim! They're too big. I'll get you a smaller size. Wait a minute.... Try these.
Jim: They're perfect. I'll take them.

Jim: Excuse-me, can you show me some t-shirts?
S.A.: What colour are you looking for?
Jim: I'd like a dark blue one, if possible.
S.A.: I'm afraid there aren't any left, but we've got some in light blue. What size are you? Small, medium or large?
Jim: I think I'm a medium.
S.A.: What about this one? Do you like it?
Jim: Lovely. I'll try it. Oh gosh, it's too small. It's a bit tight. Have you got anything bigger?
S.A.: That's the last one we've got, I'm afraid.
Jim: And how much is it?
S.A.: It's only 12 euros.
Jim: Ok I'll take it.
S.A.: How would you like to pay? Cash or by credit card?
Jim: By credit card.
S.A.: OK That's 40 euros all. Goodbye and thank you.
Jim/Ann: Goodbye. Have a nice day.

lesson 1: How to describe a family

Lesson 1: How to describe a family

My family consists of 4 people. There's my father whose name is _____, my mother whose name is ______, my brother ________ and of course, me.
My father is ____ years old. He works as a ___________ in _________. He is tall and slim, has got short, curly and brown hair and blue eyes. My father likes gardening as well as listening to music and reading books. His special hobbies are travelling and playing football.

Now I'll describe my mother and my brother. My mother is 47 and she works as a nurse in a hospital. She is small and slim, has short brown hair and green eyes. She likes cooking and travelling. My brother is 16. He is slim and has short brown hair and blue eyes. He attends the second year at Liceo _______ in Cles. He is interested in computers and sports like football and tennis. He also spends a lot of time with his friends.
I haven't got any pet.

My parents have assigned me certain duties around the house. I don't mind helping out because everyone in a family should contribute in some way. Even though my brother and I sometimes fight about who has to do what job, we are still very close. My parents respect each other's opinion and even if they disagree they can always come to a compromise. I hope in the future that I have a family like ours.
